SV	En een iegelijk, die [om prijs] strijdt, onthoudt zich in alles. Dezen dan [doen] wel [dit], opdat zij een verderfelijke kroon zouden ontvangen, maar wij een onverderfelijke.

Alex	πας δε ο αγωνιζομενος παντα εγκρατευεται εκεινοι μεν ουν ινα φθαρτον στεφανον λαβωσιν ημεις δε αφθαρτον
ASV	And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they [do it] to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
BE	And every man who takes part in the sports has self-control in all things. Now they do it to get a crown which is of this world, but we for an eternal crown.

Darby	But every one that contends [for a prize] is temperate in all things: they then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

Sch	Jeder aber, der sich am Wettlauf beteiligt, ist enthaltsam in allem; jene, um einen vergänglichen Kranz zu empfangen, wir aber einen unvergänglichen.
Web	And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
Weym	But every competitor in an athletic contest practices abstemiousness in all directions. They indeed do this for the sake of securing a perishable wreath, but we for the sake of securing one that will not perish.
